ActivStars Cheerleading - Estrella
ActivStars combines pom & cheerleading into one program. Students are taught cheerleading techniques such as cheers and chants with arm motions, jumps, kicks, stunting basics, and teamwork. Students are also taught dance routines and other dance techniques, using at times, poms to visually enhance the choreography. We have incorporated the most modern and current dance techniques into our curriculum and developed teaching methods that work best for children and teens. JV, and Varsity 45 minutes in length. All Stars, Premier, and Pro Team are 1 hour in length. Payment options are available! Choose to pay in full at time of registration or pay by installments. ActivStars Soccer - Mirada
Weekly lessons are 50 minutes. Parents/friends are encouraged to watch the first and last class of the semester. Soccer ball and shin pads are required by the 2nd week and are available at class or you may bring your own. Soccer cleats recommended. No metal cleats, please. Students will learn Volleyball terminology, good sportsmanship, passing, serving under and overhand, bumping, setting, spiking, digging and more. Our goal and focus is to maintain an energetic and highly active program that will allow your player to enjoy and learn the joy of the game that will teach, encourage and advance your young players regardless of their skill level! B.O.L.T.S. (Building Our Leaders Through Science)
B.O.L.T.S. is a hands on S.T.E.A.M. program where students will participate in extreme science and engineering activities including constructing gliders, engineering your own race car, rubber band rockets, engineering marshmallow teamwork towers and more! -
Bonanza Educational: Exploration Through Creation
See the world through your own creations in the Exploration through Creation after-school club. Students will take a fun-filled journey using creative play with LEGO® to explore and discover and share about themselves, their classmates, and the communities they live in through fun, collaborative, creativity-focused play, and building. While the students enjoy go-at-your-own-pace activities and making new friends, projects will challenge them in ways that will develop STEM skills, problem-solving skills, teamwork skills, and help them to become better communicators. Leave your LEGO at home, we’ll supply everything you need. There are no take-home projects. For grades K+. -
Bonanza Educational: Thrilling Contraptions
Add some thrill and drama to your LEGO® play in the Thrilling Contraptions after-school club. We will bring special LEGO TECHNIC™ parts--you know, the kind that move and have gears and wheels and motors--to build thrilling projects to help us explore the 6 Classical Machines and understand how they still form the basis of every tool and machine we use today. After mastering these special parts, we'll "Save the President" while exploring the inclined plane, "Reach Out" with grabber claws as we learn about levers, and more, until we complete the class having mastered our understanding of all the simple machines and how they work together in an exciting battery-powered race car project that will leave students able to answer “What does a transmission do?” In every class we will build a functioning model while we learn the STEM skills behind how they work, as we practice problem solving skills, teamwork skills, and how to become better communicators. Bricks 4 Kidz: Forces of Nature
Fasten your seatbelts; we’re in for some wild weather! This unit is all about the amazing and powerful forces of nature, as students explore the when, where, how and why of all kinds of natural phenomenon. There is a lot of geography in this unit -- we’ll examine a map of the Pacific “Ring of Fire” where most tsunamis occur, view a diagram of the tectonic plates and learn how their movement creates earthquakes, define the area known as “Tornado Alley” in North America, and find out what hurricanes are called in different parts of the world. These lessons are designed to improve your child’s understanding of the forces of nature, while taking care not to alarm. Each model represents the motion of that particular weather or event, with a seat for a mini-figure to take in the action! Take cover because we’re about to take a trip through some wild weather! Kids will love to build moving models of a tornado, a tsunami, an earthquake and a cyclone. -
Bricks 4 Kidz: Inventions
Most objects we use on a daily basis were invented by someone. Find out the origins of things like the hand mixer, windshield wipers and conveyor belts. During this unit, students will discuss the difference between an invention and a discovery, learn how inventions solve problems, and find out how inventors get their ideas patented. Each week, students are encouraged to think of what they could invent, or improvements they could make to an existing object to solve a problem!. So many things we use each day are someone’s invention. Introduce your student to the world of ideas, creativity, inventions and patents. We will construct different familiar objects each week such as a hand mixer, windshield wipers and a conveyor belt. Each model is motorized for maximum movement and fascination! Start creating! -
