Athletes In Training - Soccer

Players will enjoy sports and see them as a part of a lifelong way of staying active. Players will increase their sense of belonging and self confidence. This class will take place outdoors. B.E.S.T. (Beginner's Edge Sports Training) Volleyball
Students will learn Volleyball terminology, good sportsmanship, passing, serving under and overhand, bumping, setting, spiking, digging and more. B.O.L.T.S. (Building Our Leaders Through Science)
B.O.L.T.S. is a hands on S.T.E.A.M. program where students will participate in extreme science and engineering activities including constructing gliders, engineering your own race car, rubber band rockets, engineering marshmallow teamwork towers and more! -
Bonanza Educational: Exploration Through Creation
See the world through your own creations in the Exploration through Creation after-school club. Students will take a fun-filled journey using creative play with LEGO® to explore and discover and share about themselves, their classmates, and the communities they live in through fun, collaborative, creativity-focused play, and building. While the students enjoy go-at-your-own-pace activities and making new friends, projects will challenge them in ways that will develop STEM skills, problem-solving skills, teamwork skills, and help them to become better communicators. Bricks 4 Kidz: Forces of Nature
Fasten your seatbelts; we’re in for some wild weather! This unit is all about the amazing and powerful forces of nature, as students explore the when, where, how and why of all kinds of natural phenomenon. There is a lot of geography in this unit -- we’ll examine a map of the Pacific “Ring of Fire” where most tsunamis occur, view a diagram of the tectonic plates and learn how their movement creates earthquakes, define the area known as “Tornado Alley” in North America, and find out what hurricanes are called in different parts of the world. These lessons are designed to improve your child’s understanding of the forces of nature, while taking care not to alarm. Each model represents the motion of that particular weather or event, with a seat for a mini-figure to take in the action! Take cover because we’re about to take a trip through some wild weather! Kids will love to build moving models of a tornado, a tsunami, an earthquake and a cyclone. -

KTA S.L.U.G. Students Learning Urban Gardening
Come and get dirty while learning about all aspects of growing our own organic vegetables using sustainable methods! Students will plant their own seeds and help in soil prep, planting, and harvesting in our school garden while also helping to maintain our garden xeriscape. KidStage presents: CLUE
What is KidStage? KidStage is a theatre and acting class for kids! The curriculum includes concentration, teamwork, improvisation, movement, voice and basic theatre terminology. At the end of the class, KidStage kids will perform for peers and parents. All classes are taught by trained instructors, whose goal it is to teach your child about the excitement of theatre, improve your child’s self-confidence, and to provide a safe, fun and interesting environment. KidStage will strengthen your child’s confidence as well as build teamwork, leadership, reading, and vocabulary skills! Join us this semester for CLUE! Calling all young detectives! Join us for a not-so-murderous mystery whodunit based on the classic game CLUE, where nothing is as it seems and everyone is guilty of something... This witty and hilarious script will keep audiences guessing- and giggling- until the very end! Performances will be held on the final day of class at 6:30pm in your school's MPR (unless otherwise noted)! -
LifeSkills Training (Virtual Class)
This is a 2 week virtual class where students will learn important life skills. Students will have a daily lesson of asynchronous online interactive content which will then be followed up with a zoom meeting with an instructor. The class content and Zoom sessions can be accessed on any computer or mobile device with internet accessibility (laptop, iPad, phone, tablet, etc.). The class time you choose will be the time of the zoom meeting. Learning Objectives: Personal Self-Management Skills – Students develop skills that help them enhance self-esteem, develop problem-solving abilities, reduce stress and anxiety, and manage anger for better mental health. General Social Skills – Students gain skills to meet personal challenges such as overcoming shyness, communicating clearly, building relationships, and avoiding violence. Drug Resistance Skills – Students learn skills that help them build effective defenses against pressures to use tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs. -
Mad Science - STEM Odyssey
Kids get familiar with basic scientific principles, as well as how they experience the world around them. Exploring the nature of matter, light, and heat will give them a foundation to move on to more complex topics; paying attention to how they perceive things they see, smell, and taste will help them develop important observational skills! -

Sports Camp Spring Break
Beginner and intermediate players in grades K-8 are invited to attend! Our experienced and positive coaches will instruct children on skills each day. 6th-8th graders will practice and play basketball week 1 and flag football week 2. K-5 will play flag football, soccer, basketball, wiffle ball, field hockey, kickball, volleyball, lacrosse, and more! Children will be divided according to age and ability. This is a great camp for making friends, staying fit and enjoying Spring Break! Half day campers should bring a nonperishable sack, while full day campers should also bring a lunch. Week 1 of camp will be held inside at Kyrene Middle School. Week 2 of camp will be held outside at the Kyrene Middle/ C.I. Waggoner Fields. Sessions fill quickly so reserve your spot soon! -
