Begin with the heartwarming realism of nature's young. Transition into the whimsical Kawaii style, capturing those irresistibly cute, wide-eyed creatures. Then, we imagine baby animals donning fashionable attire, and dive into legends with mythical baby creatures, merging mystery with artistry. Nerds love to take this class over and over, so we are now regularly changing projects and to keep things fresh and challenging for returning nerds. Engineering & BuildingA week-long innovative and hands-on S.T.E.A.M. based program with students designing and engineering several types of simple machines. Activities will focus on how to make electricity with simple- circuits, engineering rockets, catapults, slingshots, Legos, and more! Exploring Isaac Newton, Laws of Motion, acceleration, force, angles, architecture, and trajectory. All supplies included.Chess EmporiumChess Emporium teaches a fun and exciting introduction to the game of chess. All skill levels are welcome, even beginners! Class will teach game basics to all and cover introductory chess openings, chess game notation, basic chess tactics, introductory strategy, and basic endgames. Students will practice against classmates and participate in structured activities including fun chess variants (such as Bughouse chess), chess puzzles, and much more! Studies by major corporations have shown that chess can help students improve their math, verbal, creative, and critical thinking skills. This class is perfect for young artists looking to express themselves through clay while developing new artistic skills.Young Rembrandts Household PetsOur students will be elated as we celebrate our cuddly friends in the Household Pets workshop. We’ll get our feet wet on the first day of class as we draw a stylized aquarium graphic. The second day of class will be a colorful one as we learn to draw a detailed birdcage. The following day, we will explore the playful side of our animal friends in amusing cartoon images. The fourth day of class will see more realistic renderings of various household pets. And on the last day of class, we will create a large 11 x 17 pet-inspired pastel illustration.

Learn about the engineering principles behind motors, gears, and everything that vrooms and zooms!Young Rembrandts Polynesian AdventuresThink of your Favorite Polynesian Characters and then discover the beauty of Polynesia through drawing! In this 5-day workshop, children will create original characters like a spirited island girl and cheeky coconut creatures, as well as traditional Polynesian flower crowns. Artists will also illustrate breathtaking ocean scenes with Waʻa Kaulua boats and the serene landscapes of island huts and native plants. This workshop blends realism with cartoons, using vibrant no-mess materials like colored pencils and markers.

Week 3 8am - 12pm Bonanza LEGO® Engineering & Robotics STEMTeach your LEGO bricks some cool new tricks in this exciting LEGO Engineering camp! Using a mix of standard LEGO and LEGO Technic™ parts including gears and motors, campers will explore the Six Classical Machines and build projects to discover the foundations of all modern marvels. Then using LEGO Mindstorms® Robotics and laptops, campers will learn how to program and build the automated machines of the future.KidStage Presents: OZPut on your ruby slippers because we're not in Kansas anymore! Dorothy and her beloved dog Toto find themselves journeying along the yellow brick road after meeting the Munchkins and Glenda the Good Witch upon their very dramatic arrival in Oz! On her journey to see the Wizard (and hopefully return home to Kansas) she meets the Scarecrow, the Lion, and the Tin Man who are all on quests of their own to get to the Wizard to fulfill their dreams. Performance held on the final day of camp at 6:30pm in the Lagos MPR.
